There is that place in our hearts
That was once torn apart
And needs to be restored;
And we try to always hide
How that heart needs so much love to survive.
And yet we can't believe
That we are good enough to receive
​The love we really need,
That will bring us to be healed.
All this giving
Is just a part of the process
Of the love that it seems we can't receive.
If we go running after the promise We gave to God so long ago,
Can we get back to that place
We started from
And once again be made whole?
It's so hard to manage it gets to the point one day
'Til you just stop and have to decide
To be present with yourself,
And what's there inside your heart and mind.
It all comes down to acceptance
Of yourself and others you find,
It’s just a point to get to
With true honesty inside;
Something that is there and you know it
And yet it’s so hard to define.
The greatest gift you can get
Is just being able to be yourself you see,
For who is it that is giving
In what is it that you need to be.
Accept God's unconditional love inside you,
That is the greatest gift you can receive.
