what fire can light that inner candle
what spark can hold that flame
what prayer can fly to heaven
and bring goodwill to this life game

what level of understanding
can bypass all judgment and fear
and release the egos hold
and expose the hearts true cure

there is a perseverance
and the faith to carry on
there is a hand extended
and the torch of hope to light the dawn

there is a breath of Spirit
and a unseen Angel standing by
smiling at us when we get lost
and guiding us silently on
all through the darkest of nights

when the match won’t light the candle
can we still burn oh so bright
with the souls eternal light
clearing the path through the forest
to find a star that we can wish on
to remind us of our purpose
and bring hope into our life

and in Gods nameless name
there is the sound of all life
that echoes in our hearts
and lights that candle flame
