The soft smile of an angel
Greets me this dawn,
Accompanied by the echoes Of life’s sweet song.
A bell tolls at the break of the day,
A bird crosses over to Heaven today.
There’s the promise of the rising sun,
Painting clouds golden as they dance with fun
. I reach to touch the morning star,
It’s present here, and yet so far
. It directs me to take a moment to pray,
To open my heart to this perfect day,
And the soft smile of an angel
Brings grace that bids me stay.
As the breath of the morning calls
The sleeping ones awake,
Breathe in the fragrance of the morning star,
Feel the magic right where you are,
Sing the song of the angel’s grace,
That brings blessings of love to this place.
Celebrate the life you are given each day,
As a sacred time to live and to play,
For life is short, it’s here and then gone,
With just the memory of an angel’s song.
Let us rejoice in the memory of the joy
You brought to our hearts,
The gift of life you offered,
And laughter, of that you were always a part.
I feel the angel is thanking me now,
And your soul is free to fly home somehow.
I’ll try to remember the melody you gave,
The gift of a smile you shared with me today, Of a life’s sweet song.
